An additional feature of the platform is the recently launched Funderbeam Venture Index, which tracks all the publicly tradable Funderbeam Marketplace instruments, offering an easy to grasp view on market dynamics. The purpose of the index is to allow investors to easily compare their early stage private investment returns to other assets in their portfolio, including blue chips, real estate or crypto currencies.

The Funderbeam Venture Index is a “Price Return Index”, which means it only considers price movements (capital gains or losses) of the instruments that have been part of the index during its lifetime. It does not consider dividends or other aspects from non-tracked instruments.

The index intends to represent the overall performance of the Funderbeam Marketplace and is not investable itself. Funderbeam has in the pipeline the development of tradable indexes however its marketplace has to gather some weight beforehand to ensure it is large enough to support additional features.
