The Swiss crowdfunding market hits record
In 2019 crowdfunded capital raised on 39 (!) Swiss platforms increased by 15.6% to 600 million Swiss francs (EUR 550 million) – reports the research of Luzern University.
According to the 7th issue of Crowdfunding Monitor the 28 participating platforms report significant growth for the second time after the volatile performance of the first pioneering years. Debt-based, donation-based and real estate crowdfunding volumes grew the most during last year. There is a higher growth expected to 2020 because COVID-19 triggered the launch of 40 new platforms in Switzerland alone, where coupons of SMEs are issued. A huge number of individuals invested online for the first time in their lives, supporting the campaigns of their favourite local companies.
